Grandpa Hudson

Wow, what can I say about Grandpa? I have so many memories of him. Whenever we would go to Palm Springs I would get heat stroke. Grandpa was always there waiting inside to play cards and teach me how to gamble. During those times we had some great talks and had priceless memories created.

Grandpa was always happy when we were playing, happier when he was winning after I started actually beating him and not him letting me win. He would always get us a drink and some snacks so that we didn't get up and stop a game. He always sat in his chair and would laugh if I wasn't shuffling it right.

Easter was always exciting with Grandpa. He and Grandma got us baskets full of so many things that I get a belly ache just thinking about the sugar. I always looked forward to Spring Breaks because I got to see my Grandpa and Grandma.

When I was learning to drive Grandpa told me that if I didn't give one finger a day to people that I should stop driving. He was a little scary to drive with and should have been a race car driver but it was always an adventure. He had his little key chain that made the different gun sounds and always said he wanted a bull horn to magnify the sounds to get the stupid drivers off the road. He always had a way of making me feel better and making me laugh.

Grandpa was more than just a Grandpa he really was my friend. We talked about things that most Grandchildren wouldn't talk about with their Grandparents and he was always bluntly honest with me.

When we would have our sleepovers at Nine Mile I remember loving having lunches with Grandma but could not wait to be with Grandpa. I LOVED his breakfast "gulosh" or whatever it was called and just loved being there.
